A new icon takes off in Newstead – The Newstead Brewery. Take a step back in time to 1950 and you would be standing in an industrial steel warehouse watching skinners coaches being serviced, fast forward to 2014 and you are sipping a craft beer on-site while leaning against the bar top that is made from a timber beam that once supported the bus mechanics gantry floor.
The construction of the project saw the warehouse stripped back to reveal its industrial skeleton with a purposeful focus on maintaining the original elements and feel of the warehouse. The installation of the gleaming stainless steel beer tanks and brewing equipment reminds you that this is a place of business as well as pleasure. The utilisation of quirky custom wall art and murals throughout (yes, even in the toilets) adds a level of vibrancy and individuality.
