Level 31 West ChambersA modern interpretation of the traditional barrister chambers would be the best way to describe this project, which was designed by bureau^proberts. The client brief included the request of a grand entrance, and this was fulfilled with a large reception area which combined an informal meeting space with an adjacent boardroom. The focal point of the chambers was an impressive floor-to-ceiling bookcase which dominated an entire wall of the reception and continued down the corridor linking the various rooms together. Light timber panelling balanced the sleek natural stone used for the reception counter, boardroom table and waiting room table while a pressed metal ceiling above the reception desk provided a nod to a more traditional chamber style. Even though the overall colour scheme chosen was neutral and understated, bold splashes of colour from large rugs combined with deep reds and greens from the books in the bookshelf provided the chambers with a vibrant first impression. |
