Callinan ChambersCalming space with simple lines and a neutral palette was the brief to the designer for Callinan Chambers in Turbot Street. Designed by bureau^proberts, this project included providing a layout to accommodate 11 individual rooms for the barristers chambers, together with shared spaces for the reception, library and meeting rooms. Warm light filtering through the reception area was used to highlight the custom joinery which specially created for the small space, and continued the tone-on-tone colour palette of neutrals and browns. With the client wanting to create a feeling of privacy within the chambers without the space becoming too complex, clear transition areas were developed to help guide visitors between the public entrance and foyer, into the semi-private meeting rooms, before finally reaching the private barrister rooms. Here, the fitout was completely tailored to the individual taste of the barrister with a wide variety of styles and finishes used including ultra-modern, art deco and traditional. |
